Aer Lingus, (1962 - 1987) where he managed commercial activities including research, government and industry affairs, interline agreements, pricing, marketing and sales.

In the mid-eighties Patrick became General Manager, Strategic Development and was actively involved in new business development, consultancy and anciliary activities.

  Aer Turas (1983 -1987) played a leading role in the establishment of this Aer Lingus subsidiary as a major all-cargo airline operating a worldwide fleet of DC 8 freighters
  Irish Continental Group plc, (1987 - 1992) the largest ferry and container ship operator in Ireland - as Managing Director between 1987 and 1992, he oversaw rapid and profitable growth succeeded by the acquisition of this state-owned shipping company and its subsequent launching (IPO) on the Irish Stock Market.
  Datalex Communications (1987 - 1992) - oversaw the transformation from small Irish software provider to major IT solution-provider for airlines moving to direct Internet bookings.
  Allied Management Systems (1991 - 1996) - instrumental in establishing the company as a primary provider of specialist TPF programmers to the airline industry which helped many airlines adapt to the changing consumer demand for direct access to airline reservation systems
Ryanair (1992 - 1995) - responsible for its transformation from a traditional full-service regional airline into the low-cost airline it is today
